Favourite place in the house ... kitchen

Welcome :)

There is a place in the house where I like to be a lot. And I can admit that it is my favourite place as I love cooking and sharing food with my family here. 
In my home country the kitchen we had was a smaller one, but no matter the size it was our favourite anyway..

Here in the country home, I had to learn how to use a country cooker (Aga), a bit unusual to what I was used to and I really like it now. 

Recently I've refreshed two vintage wooden chairs, here is what they were like and what they look like now.

Unusual bathroom in our 200 years old house

Happy weekend! continued ...

We have recently moved home and are now living in a 200 years old house... a beautiful Georgian style home, which stole our hearts. That's in England, UK.
At last I've managed to finish decorations and ...Today I would like to share with you pictures of our bathroom. It is not a usual bathroom, it's more like a cozy room with a bath in the middle. 
As all my readers know I love shabby chic and Provence style... Here come the pictures.

All accessories come from local shops such as Asda Home, B&M store and some are simply vintage finds. And the table was previously brown, I repainted it and added finishing touches.

Cheesecake - happy weekend!

Happy Weekend :)

We have had some chilly days in England, this winter, but not much snow. 

Weekend is starting today and for me Weekend is family time and we love every minute of it.

 My youngest daughter helped me to make a cheesecake for dessert. 

Here she is :)

It tastes really well with home made custard.Just like this..

And this is my recipe if you are interested...

1 kilo of curd cheese 
18 egg yolks
12 egg whites
200 g of unsalted butter (at room temperature)
4 tablespoons of brown sugar
4 tablespoons of white flour
a teaspoon of ground cardamon and vanilla

In one bowl mix in all ingredients EXCEPT egg whites.
In the second bowl whisk the egg whites.
Now add the egg whites to the mixture and fold in. 
Bake for about an hour (depending on the type of oven) in temp.180'C.

When it cools down, you can decorate it with chocolate (dissolve half a bar of dark chocolate with some cream, about 5 spoons )
